Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson at UFC 144
Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar… take two… has now been scheduled.

The rematch for the UFC lightweight title now has a date as Henderson and Edgar have agreed to face off at UFC 150, tentatively scheduled for Aug. 11 in Denver.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed the date for the fight with on Friday with verbal agreements in place for the August showdown. first reported the news.

Edgar and Henderson first met at UFC 144 in February in Japan. Henderson came out on top that night winning a unanimous decision over Edgar.

The fight was razor close in the minds of most experts, so the UFC decided to give Edgar another crack at Henderson after he himself had ended up in rematches with his last two opponents.

Now the two lightweights will go to battle one more time with the UFC lightweight title up for grabs.

The current schedule has UFC 150 landing at Denver’s Pepsi Center, which hosted UFC 135 in September 2011 featuring Jon “Bones” Jones against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the main event.

Now Denver fans will be treated to a lightweight title fight as Edgar tries to reclaim the gold, while Henderson looks to solidify his position as the top 155-pound fighter in the world.

What a treat for the fans. Two lightweight tilte defenses this year with the same two, can’t wait. And if Ben loses on a close decision, you bet frankie’s giving him a Rematch. At least Bellator isn’t doing this horseshiat to their division, thank god!!

  • Stupid rematch. I hope they fight to a draw.

      haha that’d be sweet

Sorry but Frankie lost this one and I just hope Henderson puts him away this second time so that little sh*t can go and get his ass kicked by Aldo in the FW division. Frankie is a bytch and bytching is what got him this rematch. Henderson should’ve declined and said “No, he needs to earn a title shot. I don’t care if he gave rematches to others, that’s not me, he has to earn it if he wants a shot at the belt.” Oh well, I guess Henderson had his price tag too.

Boo! I’ll definitely watch but I don’t see any fireworks happening in this bullshit rematch. If they split decision for Edgar I will fricken swallow a lead pill. It’s a shame that the division with arguably the most talent has to sit around and risk their contender spots against other top LWs while the rematches go on and on and on and on. Edgar lost, he shoulda had to fight his way back. This should be a UFC on Fox headliner at best. Diaz vs. Miller sounds much more enticing than this Championship fight in my opinion.

Normally, I don’t like rematches, but Frankie’s given (somebody check the record books) the most rematches in UFC history.

Does anyone A) give a damn about this fight? B) actually think Edgar won the last one?
