TitovsRampage470Bellator’s first-ever pay-per-view event is quickly coming together as the weeks until fight time are soon to become days until fight time.

Rampage vs. Tito” is already loaded with the main event between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Tito Ortiz, two former UFC champions, and three Bellator title fights.

This week, Bellator has already added a couple more high profile bouts. They slotted the Season 9 Heavyweight Final between Cheick Kongo and Vinicius Spartan onto the pay-per-view main card. Bellator also put a featured featherweight fight pitting Mike Richman against Akop Stepanyan and a welterweight feature fight between Karo Parisyan and Cristiano Souza on the preliminary portion of the fight card set to air on Spike TV.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney is certainly proud of the fight card that is coming together for his company’s first pay-per-view effort, something that has been years in the making.

“To be able to put on a card of this caliber for our first Pay-Per-View is something really special,” Rebney said. “Kongo vs. Spartan should be absolute fireworks, and will be a fantastic way to kick off what should be a historic night on November 2nd from the Long Beach Arena.”

After the Kongo vs. Spartan opener on PPV, the show will immediately launch into a flurry of title fights before the main event.

Featherweight champion Pat Curran puts his belt on the line against Daniel Straus, King Mo Lawal faces Emanuel Newton in a rematch for the Bellator interim light heavyweight title, and lightweight champion Michael Chandler steps into a long-awaited rematch against returning former champ Eddie Alvarez.

Bellator: Rampage vs. Tito takes place on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, Calif.

I read there were still a ton of tickets left unsold and only about 1700 seats filled…

This might turn out to be a huge bust

    • Scotty_O

I’d probably go see it if I lived in the area, live sporting events are usually a good atmosphere, I bet the tickets a pretty cheap too. However, I won’t be paying to watch it on TV.

      • bajafox

It’s only an hour away from me and I’ve always been a Tito fan. But like I told my wife, this is the last $50 I’m spending on watching Tito during his last fight in the UFC.

        • cacastain

tito isnt in the ufc anymore

          • bajafox

Yea I know, what part of “last fight in the UFC” was difficult to understand?

          • Mike mckinney

Wait a second… Tito’s last fight was UFC 148. That was Silva vs. Sonnen 2.
You bought that ppv because you wanted to see Tito?
I bought 6th row tickets for that fight, but it was in spite of Ortiz being on the card. 😉
I will note that the vast majority of that crowd thought Tito won that fight. Including myself. It did seem much closer (and Forrest probably did win) after watching it on TV.

          • bajafox

Yea, regardless of who else was on the card, I ordered it specifically to watch Tito’s “retirement” fight in support of him

I will NOT order this one, I spent my last dollar on him

    • Mark McDowall

Might be a huge bust? Bellator is putting pretty much all their eggs in 1 basket made by 2 over paid hasbeens. If this was priced say $25 or so I would think about buying it. But $50 for this…even though there are title fights is pretty nuts…

      • bajafox

I wanted to reserve full judgement until after the PPV, assuming they even release the numbers…

        • Mark McDowall

That will be the true test…but with the stupid money they are paying Tito and Rampage I’m sure they will have to sell out the venue and sell a ton of PPV’s to just break even. But as you said…judgement will be reserved until afterwards.

this card besides the main event is great. Def. will order

  • TheCerealKiller

The HW champ, Alexander Volcov, only weighs 225 lbs? That’s a LHW that didn’t feel like cutting weight!

  • yourmotherwontleave

they’ll both gas out by the end of round one

  • Cadpaul

is this going to be available live in the UK?

  • Steve Kombolis

This makes no sense to me. Only real fans normally will order PPV. And anybody who is a real fan of MMA knows Rampage and Ortiz are both washed up. The other fights are the ones of actual interest. Yet they have to over-charge to off-set the cost of a main-event nobody cares about. I saw someone else say $25 would be worth considering. I agree. It is hard to imagine there are going to be many buys at $50. There is literally almost no outcome of the Jackson/Ortiz fight that could interest me. Even a nasty knockout would almost be more sad at this stage in their careers. Bellator is making a huge mistake paying two over-the-hill ex-UFC fighters big money to hold off on a retirement that was already long overdue
