- BELLATOR ANNOUNCES 155 & 185 FINALS

Bellator Fighting Championships on Tuesday announced the final event of its 12-week nationwide world championship series. Bellator XII will feature the promotion’s first championship bouts in both the lightweight and middleweight divisions.

The lightweight championship features the No. 2 ranked lightweight in the world, Eddie Alvarez, squaring off with Toby Imada. Alvarez dominated Eric Reynolds, submitting him with a rear naked choke to reach the finals, while Imada used a highlight reel triangle choke to defeat Jorge Masvidal en route to Bellator XII.

The Bellator Middleweight World Championship fight will be between Hector Lombard and Jared Hess. Lombard is a multiple-time Cuban National Judo Champion, former member of the Cuban Olympic Judo team and world-class mixed martial artist. Hess was an All-American wrestler at Central Oklahoma University and is eager to extend his undefeated record and reach for the Bellator title.

All the action will happen live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, June 19, 2009 and air exclusively on ESPN Deportes on Saturday June 20, 2009. Bellator XII will award the winning Lightweight World Champion and Middleweight World Champion each a $100,000 grand prize.

185 lbs – Hector Lombard vs. Jared Hess

155 lbs – Jorge Masvidal vs. Eric Reynolds
145 lbs – Sami Aziz vs. Brad Pickett
170 lbs – Josh Martin vs. Sergio Morais
120 lbs – Jessica Aguilar vs. Rosie Sexton
155 lbs – Troy Gerhart vs. Luis Palomino
