Andreas Spang KOs Brian Rogers at Bellator 66For once-beaten Andreas Spang, the vision of one day fighting for the Bellator middleweight championship became less of a dream and more of a reality when Bruno Santos was forced out of the tournament due to an injury. However, hometown favorite Brian Rogers had other plans in mind at Bellator 66 on Friday night.

Through nearly a round and a half, both men unloaded a barrage of wild punches, flying knees and kicks that had the crowd at the I-X Center on their feet. Midway through the second round, however, Spang connected with a devastating left hook that put Rogers out for good.

With the technical knockout victory, Bellator newcomer Andreas Spang will now move to the final round of the Bellator Season 6 Middleweight Tournament and improves his record to 8-1. Brian Rogers drops to 9-4.

What a great back and forth fight with a crazy come back at the end.

Big, Big fan of Bellator now. They’re really bringing it with these awsome fights. Kind of remind me of WEC, but with a kick of AFFLICTION. Good stuff.

Yep some great fights in there. Have to say though that Spang geezer can’t seem to contain himself in a staredown, he shoved Rogers and then Falcao within seconds of squaring up, pretty unprofessional stuff and makes me want to see him ktfo in his next fight. Enjoyed seeing Falcao again, I remember him a couple of years ago in the UFC but I’m sure he was cut quite controversially, anyone out there fill in the gaps for me?

Bellator is coming together quite well, plenty of rising stars.
