Bellator 61 Weigh-in Results; New Main Eventer Slightly Over (UPDATED)

Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

Bellator 61 was supposed to feature a heavyweight bout to determine the No. 1 contender to Bellator heavyweight champion Cole Konrad, but that plan was derailed at the last minute. Eric Prindle fell ill with flu like symptoms, forcing his fight with Thiago Santos to be moved to next week’s Bellator 62 fight card.

The Season 6 middleweight tournament will instead take center stage with Maiquel Falcao facing Norman Paraisy in the Bellator 61 main event on MTV2. That is if Falcao makes weight on his second attempt.

Falcao initially weighed in 0.6 pounds over, but was given two hours to drop the extra weight. He later made weight on his second attempt, tipping the scale at 186 pounds.

The remainder of the middleweight quarterfinal bouts will flesh out the main card, with an undercard airing live on Spike.com.

The contestants weighed in Thursday afternoon for Friday night’s fights.
