Michael Chandler vs Eddie AlvarezBellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler and challenger Eddie Alvarez meet at Bellator 106 on Saturday at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, Calif., in the most highly anticipated rematch in the promotion’s history.

First, they and the rest of the Bellator 106 fighters had to step on the scale to make their bouts official.

Alvarez has been on the sidelines for more than a year in a lengthy and, at times, bitter contract negotiation with Bellator, while Chandler has already fought twice this year and kept his undefeated streak intact.

The supporting cast is no slouch either. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal will try to avenge a loss to Emanuel Newton in the night-s co-main event, which also serves as a battle for the Bellator interim light heavyweight championship. Featherweight champion Pat Curran puts his belt on the line, as well, in a fight with Daniel Straus.

Unfortunate thing for Bellator is if the PPV had a dismal amount of buys they could hide it. The viewer totals for television are a more public thing however, and we are going to know how this triple Bellator title card matches up against the numbers the UFC used to pull on Spike for non-title fight nights.
