Las Vegas, NV (August 15, 2005) — The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) organization today announced new UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski will face off against Paul “The Headhunter” Buentello in the main event of UFC 55: FURY live at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut Friday, October 7, 2005.

Forrest Griffin, Light Heavyweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter™ Season I finale, will also fight in a bout against Ian “The Machine” Freeman.

Tickets for UFC 55: FURY are on sale now priced at $350, $250, $150, $75 and $35 and are available through www.ufc.tv; tickemaster.com; any regional Ticketmaster Charge by Phone number; visiting any Ticketmaster outlet; or Mohegan Sun Box Office. Ticket purchases are subject to transaction fees.

Andrei Arlovski (10-3-0), UFC Heavyweight Champion, is 6′ 4″, 220 lbs. and fighting out of Minsk, Belarus. Arlovski became the interim-heavyweight champ at UFC 51: SUPER SATURDAY by submitting Tim Sylvia. He then defended the interim-title at UFC 53: HEAVY HITTERS against Justin Eilers with a win by TKO. UFC 55: FURY will mark Arlovski’s first official title defense as UFC heavyweight champion.

Paul Buentello (19-8-0) is 6’2″, 235 lbs. and fighting out of Amarillo, Texas. He made his UFC debut at UFC 51: SUPER SATURDAY with a KO of Justin Eilers. Most recently, he defeated Kevin Jordan by submission at UFC 53: HEAVY HITTERS.

Forrest Griffin (11-2-0) is 6′ 3″, 205 lbs. and fighting out of Athens, Georgia. He won The Ultimate Fighter Season I finale following an epic three-round battle with Stephan Bonnar last April. In his first UFC bout, Griffin submitted Bill Mahood at UFC 53: HEAVY HITTERS.

Ian Freeman (14-6-1) is 5′ 11″, 220 lbs. and fighting out of Sunderland, England. Freeman is coming off two wins in the last year, defeating Will Elworthy by TKO in December 2004 and Ryan Robinson by KO in November 2004.
