Ahaha, Silva is funny – glad him and Chael get along in their way. :P

  • solo

lool this is amazing. Imagine Chael, GSP and Silva and sausages on sticks. Isnt that a picture?

  • TriggerKuntry

I don’t think it’s a good idea for him to fight Jones. He has every physical advantage over Anderson. He already overpowers guys at 205 .Jon Jones fighting guys his size at HW though. i’d rather see that. (Cain Vs. Jon Jones)

    • Sir_Roy

Folks say the same for GSP versus Anderson. And I get why. But I think we write the smaller fighters off a little too readily. Silva would take Jones out standing – I have no doubt about that. GSP would take Silva in the ground game. I think there remains little doubt about that as well (there shouldn’t be in any event). Both smaller fighters have proven they can take their respective super fights should they fight in their element of choice.

It’s just, for the first time in their championship careers, they both would be the definitive underdog in each their respective “super fight” without doubt. The question remains, could GSP avoid the stand-up and keep Silva tied up on the mat and could Silva avoid Jone’s take downs and keep the fight standing.

    • Chris M

if your the best why not fight the best?

  • silvas daddy

If he was afraid of weidman (and he was and is, his actions proved this by dodging weidman til forced into fight, when weidman clearly was number one contender after munoz bout. Never has a.s. ever tried to get out of a fight but he put on quite the performance when weidman was his mandatory. ),then hes certainly afraid of jones.

    • f76

hey buddy the fight is happening already. so stop posting the same s*** over and over again.

      • Werdoomb

Come up for air off silvas sack

    • Fried_Chicken

      *yawn*

      • silvas daddy

You have something stuck in your throat?

        • Fried_Chicken

You have an education that goes beyond grade four?

          • silvas daddy

I am of the upper echelon of society. Royal Blood flows through my veins. How educated are you?

          • Fried_Chicken

Must be a very primitive society. I’ll give you a thumbs-up though, because that’s just how I roll. Plus I’m very, VERY modest. :)

    • Chris M

u joking right now out off all the fighters silva fought hes scared of weidman?

  • Sir_Roy

I must be silly to still want to see GSP versus Anderson Silva. I know the “in” thing is to denounce such a desire as a silly pipe dream … taking note of how much smaller GSP is, how Jones versus Anderson is the smarter fight and “blah blah blah”, but it’s still the original super fight that I can’t help but want to see dammit. It would get the olden day excitement flowing again.

    Ah well.

    • Chris M

sorry but i dont think gsp vx silva will ever happen just because it seems like gsp wants nothin to do with anderson! and about the size difference jones is alot bogger then silva so i dont kno why people use size as an excuse for gsp!

      • Sir_Roy

GSP didn’t want anything to do with Silva directly upon his return from injury. Very smart decision. He came back to a re-stacked division. He’s also since gone on record by saying he didn’t want to step on teammate Weidman’s feet … coupled with the fact he feels Weidman will win and so did not want to commit to fighting Anderson until this match happens.

If Anderson beats Weidman and GSP gets past Hendricks, and still does not want to talk “super fight”, then we can start speculating as to the whys and wherefores.

Finally, Anderson walks around at 220lbs (sometimes more) and Jones walks around at 230lbs. The only real advantage Jones has over Anderson is his reach (which is admittedly significant) and one inch height advantage. GSP walks around at 190 – 195lbs. So yeah, Georges is at a greater size disadvantage against Silva than Silva is against Jones by a significant margin.

        • Chicago

If AS really walks around @ 220 lbs then why in his last 205 fight did he weight in @ 202 lbs? why struggle to lose an extra 3 lbs. I think white MMA fans are so afraid to lose their “great white hope” that they make stuff up.

          • toom

            wow what a racist turd

          • Chicago

I should have said “some” white fans. and as me being a racist. no man. my wife, white. her mom and dad who we moved into our home, white. my step mom who raised me since I was 2 like her own, white. my 2 bf’s, white. My nationality is black, white, Latin, & native American. (I wish my wife was an Asian so it would be impossible 4 my kids to be racist) think that some people relate with people that look similar to themself. nothing wrong with that. humans have been doing this back when we were tribes. ppl who look like u were in the tribe. ppl who looked different were not in the tribe & were a threat.

          • Sir_Roy

Anderson Silva walks around at 220lbs or more. Not made up … common knowledge. Google is your friend. Walk around weight, and weight a fighter is comfortable fighting at, are two different things altogether.

A man who cuts weight to make 185lbs, weighing in at 202lbs for a LHW bout is in no way proof against what is commonly known fact and openly shared information. Anderson has grown more accustomed to fighting at lighter weight.

Do some homework before you accuse folks of giving a sh!t what color a fighter’s skin is when making an argument completely unrelated to race … a real a-hole & arrogant comment to make to be blunt. Insecure child.

          • Chicago

Because everything online is true!?! when you have a conversion with AS and u ask him yourself let me know. child.

          • Sir_Roy

When you consider the official sources, frequency and consistency, then the odds are pretty damn good it’s accurate enough. Far more accurate than your opinion to the contrary.

And there are interviews where Silva himself talks about his natural walk around weight, and how much weight he has to cut. If you can’t source them, it’s because you never even tried and resort to talking out your arse, pulling race card crap … acting every bit the poor little invalid victim.

          • Chicago

Holy crap. I think we just agreed on something. walk around weight….. there are 3 weights. walk around, training weight and weight class. gsp never gets out of shape so he doesn’t have a walk around weight. During an interview AS said that while training he weights 205 lbs. Anderson has a wife & 5 kids (and likes his BBQ and burgers) he can’t train all the time with camps all over the world. why should we penalize AS for gaining a marriage gut? Mark Munez got fat. 260lbs should we make him fight HW? I do believe that AS get to 220 when he is fat. just like Rampage, and damarqus Johnson who blew up to 210 as a WW. Just like 50% of the MMA guys or any sport during the off season…. we can have a conversation without name calling online. it’s a bit juvenile.

          • Sir_Roy

Agreed with the name calling. Go to the site I pinned for you (once it’s approved). It gives a nice history … and Silva is not that fat at 220lbs. It really is his natural weight.

          • Chicago

Http:/m.mixedmartialarts.com/mma-news/425918/Anderson-silva-already-near-weight-white-says-bonnar-will-be-crazy-bigger. article that says while AS is training he weights 205 lbs. so if he gets any bigger its cause he is getting fat spending time with his 5 kids. u want to penalize Mark Munoz (i think spelling is correct) for getting fat and make a true MW fight HW? GSP says himself he is always training and doesn’t get fat. must be nice to not have 5 kids & a wife and train year around.

          • Sir_Roy

Yeah, we can do the link thing all day long. In training, before cutting, Silva hovers at 205lbs. Still in training. Jones is closer to 205 as well while training. We’re talking “walk around weight”.

            Go here;

            http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/anderson-silva-normal-walking-around-weight-220-230lbs-1537001/

If gives the skinny and cites interviews.

          • Chicago

Agree to disagree. see u next time!

          • Leroy

It must really upset you that there are more white champions in boxing than any other race. I wonder if you hate the white in your kids?

          • Chicago

U did see the part where I said that I was part white right? German to be exact. and no I don’t care for boxing. Kickboxing yea.

          • MuayThaiFood

How is acknowledging that racism still exists and pointing out that some people want Anderson to get beat for that reason alone racist? You don’t think there were people who voted for Romney for the same reasons?

          • Sir_Roy

Because he pointed out that I was racist because I was speaking out favorably for GSP … when nothing I was saying at all had anything whatsoever to do with race. Intimating I’m a fan of GSP because he’s white without basis in fact, in anything I said, is in itself racist and a defamation of character.

Fact is, I’m as big a fan of Anderson Silva and have supported him online for years … I have bought almost each and every one of his cards, and fall in support often more vehemently than GSP. I’m a fan of greatness in the sport. Period. Could give two shites about the color of a man’s skin.

          • MuayThaiFood

No he didn’t. The comment was directed at you but the part specifically about racism was directed at MMA “fans”, not you personally. Maybe that’s why your reply came off the way it did as you obviously took it personally. I don’t doubt you are colorblind but you can’t just shrug off that there are a lot who aren’t.

          • Chicago

I was wondering why he was coming @ me so hard. I just it was a big misunderstanding. thanks for clearing that up 4 us.

          • Sir_Roy

Nah … c’mon man, he used the word “fans” but the comment is clearly directed at me – in direct response to my comment about fighter’s walk around weight. Clearly stating me (the “fan”), was “making stuff up” to protect our (my) “great white hope”. Trying in hindsight to intimate otherwise is a cop out. I know racism exists, on both ends of the equation. Anyway, I also agree we’re starting to make a big thing out of not too much at all.

          • p3ezy

Get out of grown folks business and get me an eggroll

          • Chicago

Whoa whoa dude. I never called you racist. I seen u on the site a lot and u know your stuff. u never said anything to make me think that u were racist. if u felt that way I do apologize but I think their was a misunderstanding.

          • Sir_Roy

OK then … it’s all good. Thanks for being stand-up about it and explaining yourself.

          • Marcus Miles

Dude white people don’t give a f@#k about black champ, white champ, purple champ. Im white and i love a good champ no matter what race. Race has nothing to do with peoples bias. Its all about character IMHO. That being said, take a look in the mirror before you point your finger at someone for being a racist ignorant mother f#$ker.

          • Chicago

Accidentally responded to my own comment instead of yours. u can read it if u want.

          • Chicago

Ok listen very carefully so I can explain. my friend who is white loves Mj and other black basketball stars. he likes talented people. But last year he said to me he just wishes that their was at least 1 white superstar that was the shit. before Obama their was not 1 black pres. and I thought that it would be amazing if we had1. does that mean that I hated every other pres. before Obama?… no. it doesn’t even have to be about race. if their were 2 guys & I had 2 start a convo with 1 of them. if 1 of them is wearing a Joe Rogan podcast t-shirt, I would chose him. cause it is familiar. I like gsp and often defend him in arguments about choosing position over submission. dear Lord people. I LIKE EVERYONE EQUALLY UNTIL THEY OPEN THEIR MOUTH!

          • Leroy

The klitschkos reign supreme and they are white. Tell him heres two real white athletes

          • Baller31

True, but they both kind of suck. Heavyweight boxing is horrible right now.

        • Chris M

yea my point exactly gsp walks heavier then 185 and jones can fight heavy weight silva cant! so to me nooo difference especially when gsp has video out wrestling heavy weights!! mark my word gsp will never want to fight silva bc silva is the better fighter and would ruin gsp’s image!

  • Jack Burton

GSP is significantly smaller than Silva. It makes no sense for the so-called greatest fighter ever to fight smaller guys, he should fight above his weight class to increase his difficulty.

    • Chris M

and what gsp shouldnt? the whole thing is anderson wants to fight the best and the 2 close to hiim is gsp and jones! i i kno gsp wants nothing to do with this fight but thats why he will always be number 2 or 3!

    • Cptmats

By that reasoning Jones shouldn’t fight Silva and no HW should fight Jones !

      • already know

I really hope gus beats jones because i want it that way,but both jones and gus will destroy cain!

        • Baller31

Huh? You think Gustaffson or Jones can beat Cain? Jones….very big maybe, Gustaffson, no way. He couldn’t beat Phil Davis, and Cain is a bigger, stronger wrestler.

          • tyrone

Gus has shored up his wrestling since that fight. Hes been training with olympic wrestlers

          • Sir_Roy

Wrestling, even MMA wrestling, isn’t solely a question of skill though. It’s a question of athleticism and raw natural power as well (more so than most other MMA arts IMHO). Wrestling has at its epicenter the strength, conditioning and explosiveness of its practitioner. It’s the one art where physicality really does rule the roost. If Gus is not the “stronger” wrestler, despite improved skill, he’ll still get run down. Aside from pure skill, I think folks like Jones and GSP are a notch physically above each and every one of their opponents which is why they dominate in the grapple game at their respective weight class.

In short, I’m not sure Gus has the physical strength & power needed to contend with Jones’ grappling despite improved skill and training.

          • Real

yeah, i’m sorry, Gustafsson not beating Cain.

Jon Jones would be interesting though.

  • Jack Burton

Why does Silva repeat himself over and over that he respects people, it’s like he’s terrified or feels guilty, he gives the worst interviews. Great fighter, really bizarre personality.

    • MuayThaiFood

I’m going out on a limb and saying it’s because English isn’t his first language and he obviously doesn’t have a huge vocabulary of words to work with yet. Try giving an interview in Portuguese and I bet you don’t interview well either.

  • diazfan209

Jones vs. Silva and GSP vs. Henderson at Cowboys stadium 2014…….

    • Baller31

I would like to see Aldo vs Henderson, it Pettis doesn’t get to Aldo first.

  • Bruno

how can people doubt anderson silva after everything is done on ufc?

  • dgs

The bottom line here is, that come fight day, Silva would be the bigger fighter, with probably a 10 to 15 pound weight advantage over GSP. Jones would probably have the same weight advantage over Silva come fight day if they fight. However I really don’t think giving up 10 or even 15 pounds is a big deal. Junior Dos Santos is a smallish heavyweight and regularly gives up that much weight to his opponents, if not more.

Personally, I am in the camp of people who would much rather see Silva vs Jones than Silva vs GSP. I see the ever gun-shy GSP constantly going for the take down in a super fight with Silva. I think Jones would dance with Silva on the feet for a bit, and would therefore make for a much more interesting/entertaining fight.

Lastly, I get the feeling GSP is really not interested if fighting outside of his weight class, while Silva has fought successfully at 205 a few times now.
