An Emotional Night for Mark Hominick

It was a tough night for UFC featherweight Mark Hominick who fell to Chan Sung Jung by knockout in his hometown of Toronto.

It was also the first time Hominick stepped into the cage since the passing of his longtime friend and coach Shawn Tompkins, so it was obviously an emotional night as well.

Hominick took time after the fight to speak to the media about the fight and the night.

This was a shock. I actually remember wondering why this fight was even happening. Hominick really had nothing to gain by taking this fight. He’s off a close, but impressive loss to one of the best fighters in the world in Aldo, and Jung’s best claim is a victory over Leonard Garcia.

Jung also got head kicked by a guy that Hominick just completely embarrassed. I feel really bad for Hominick, because he would beat Jung 9 out of 10 times. Tonight just happened to be that one time.
