The promotion was reeling in January after UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones tested positive for cocaine, Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana, and Anderson Silva and Hector Lombard tested positive for steroids. That pushed the UFC in February to announce its own efforts to ramp up out-of-competition testing for its fighters and to push for stiffer penalties from regulatory bodies.

The UFC’s new drug testing policy is expected to go into effect on July 1, 2015.

Not gonna lie, I was worried about dos Anjos popping. I wonder what would have happened if he did. Would Pettis get the title back?

    • Kyle Allen

back in the day josh barnett was popped after taking the title from randy coture and then was stripped of his title which then became vacant ( no champion). Then coture and ricco rodriguez fought for it

      • TheCerealKiller

True, but lately they have been changing the record to a no contest and Barnett still has a win on his record.

    • Seth

NC and Pettis would fight for the belt against next contender IMO.

      • TheCerealKiller

Probably right. The other crazy scenario I wondered about, what if Jones was champ when he got DQ’ed against Hamill. Would Hamill have been champ? I’m thinking too much today.

        • Darin

Mike Mazzagatti would have become the new champ and his first defense would be against Jones.

          Hamill ufc champion? LMFAO.

        • Seth

Prolly would. DQ still counts as a win.

similar to when chael dominated anderson for nearly 25mins only to find out he was using PEDs.

  • Sincero100mpre

I cannot believe Dos Anjos was clean.

Why that is like saying TJ was on the juice when he beat Barao’s a**?
      RDA is legit.

me too guys gotta be using a new strand of peds that hasn’t been tested for yet the way he handled pettis doesn’t seem right wasnt even a close fight and pettis has never been dominated like that im still skeptic

      • Sarge

pettis did say he had a concussion so its hard to fight 25 mins with a sore head. did you complain as well when he KO’ed Ben Henderson and defeated Cerrone for 15 full mins???

        • Kyle Allen

and made nate diaz look like he has never fought in his life

          • Sarge

nate diaz is nate diaz. he’s not relevant to be worth talking about.
