**The swing bout between Justin Levens vs. Ray Lazama has been canceled. MMAWeekly.com was informed that due to time and the condition of the ring following the main event prevented the fight from happening. Affliction VP Tom Atencio told MMAWeekly.com that both fighters would be paid their show purse, plus the promotion would give them some kind of additional bonus.

Fedor takes out Tim Sylvia at Affliction Banned

R1- Sylvia tries to land a hook early on and Fedor answers back with a barrage of punches that put the his opponent down. Sylvia crashes to the mat and Fedor pounces with punches, Sylvia rolls and Fedor takes his back, locks on a chock and Sylvia is forced to tap out.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Ben Rothwell

Andrei Arlovski and Ben Rothwell at Affliction Banned

Andrei Arlovski gets the upper hand on Ben Rothwell

R1- Arlovski comes out very aggressive, landing some good leg kicks on Rothwell. Arlovski lands a good takedown on Rothwell, but he escapes. Arlovski transitions to a heel hook/ankle lock, but Rothwell is able to pull out. As the fighter exchange on the feet, Arlovski lands a nice 1-2 combination, that rocks Rothwell, but he is able to recover as the round ends.

R2- Arlovski opens the 2nd round with some thunderous shots on Rothwell, causing him to back up. Arlovski lands some good power shots, before taking Rothwell down. Arlovski goes for a heel hook, but loses position and Rothwell ends up on top. Rothwell starts to come over the top with elbows, as Arlovski defends from the bottom. The referee stands them up and Arlovski immediately comes after Rothwell with big punches and a beautiful jumping knee, but Rothwell refuses to go down. The round closes.

R3- Rothwell gets the clinch early on, but Arlovski is able to resist and move away and immediately he starts to punch Rothwell again. Arlovski lands punch after punch, closing with a huge overhand right and an uppercut, and finally Rothwell crumbles to the mat.

Josh Barnett vs. Pedro Rizzo

Josh Barnett lands a kick on Pedro Rizzo at Affliction Banned

R1- Barnett does a good job throughout the round of landing nice front kicks to keep Rizzo away for much of the 5 minutes. Rizzo seems content to counter, but he doesn’t land many power shots. Barnett displays good head movement as he sticks and moves to stay away from Rizzo’s power.

R2- Barnett comes out striking again in the 2nd round, landing the front kicks again. Rizzo starts to be more aggressive, striking back and forth with his opponent. As the fighters exchange, Barnett lands a huge left hook that knocks Rizzo completely out.

Hominick submits Young at Affliction Banned

R1- The fighters exchange strikes for the entirety of the round, with Hominick mostly hitting jabs and peppering shots, while Young lands some very solid big punches and late in the round he lands a big power punch to Hominick’s body. Close round.

R2- Savant Young gets a good takedown early in the round as he starts to reign down some solid ground and pound on his opponent. Hominick is able to sweep Young and then transition to a triangle choke. Young survives by slamming Hominick down where he starts to punch again. Hominick again locks on a triangle choke, moving then to an armbar, which Young cannot get out of and taps out.

-Renato Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead

Renato Babalu Sobral and Mike Whitehead at Affliction Banned

Babalu and Whitehead through the ropes at Affliction Banned

R1- Babalu and Whitehead stand for the majority of the round, with neither fighter gaining a clear upper hand. Whitehead lands a good uppercut late in the round, as Babalu lands a couple of really solid leg kicks of his own. Babalu does get a takedown late in the round, but Whitehead pups right back up. Very close round.

R2- Again the fighters stay standing to start the round, but Whitehead tries continuously to go for takedowns. Whitehead does manage a takedown about midway through the round, but he is unable to really inflict any damage. From the bottom, Sobral is able to control position and work for an omo plata, but Whitehead escapes. The fight is stood back up, and Babalu lands a couple of nice knees to the body. Another very close round.

R3- Whitehead looks gassed in the third round, but he still goes for a takedown early, Babalu locks on a guillotine choke, but the fighters fall out of the ring. Back after the restart, Whitehead does the same thing, pushing Babalu against the ropes, and as Sobral goes for a guillotine, the fighters fall through the ropes again. Back in action, Whitehead takes the fight down again and Babalu locks on a strong omo plata, but Whitehead escapes. Back on the feet, Babalu lands a nice front kick to Whitehead’s neck. The fight comes to a close

-Matt Lindland vs. Fabio Negao
R1- Lindland clips Negao early on putting his opponent down and Lindland jumps in right away trying for a guillotine choke. Negao defends well, but sits within the choke for almost 2 minutes in the fight. Lindland transitions out of the choke into a ground and pound situation, landing good punches and elbows. The fight gets back to the feet for the last minute or so of the round as both fighters seem a bit winded.

R2- Negao comes out strong in the 2nd round, hitting Lindland with a big elbow that rocks the former top middleweight. Lindland recovers and starts to slug it out with Negao before working his way to a double leg takedown. From that point, Lindland works a vicious ground and pound attack with punches, elbows and forearms.

R3- Lindland controls the stand-up in the third round, peppering Negao with jabs and a few uppercuts. Lindland goes for a takedown late in the round, as the fighters actually fall through the ropes. Neither are injured and the fight resumes. Lindland starts going after Negao again with punches and also lands a nice knee strike

-Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Edwin Dewees
R1- Dewees comes out trying a stand-up attack with leg kicks on his opponent. Nogueira defends well and eventually takes the fight to the ground where he works for punches, but then stands back up. As the fighters trade, it’s Nogueira who gets the better of the exchanges, landing good punches and working the muay thai clinch. Dewees tries to fight back, but Noguiera lands a big hook that puts him down and after a few more punches, referee Herb Dean steps in to stop the fight.

-Mike Pyle vs. J.J. Ambrose
R1- Ambrose bull rushes in early working for a clinch with Pyle, but he is unable to work the fight to the ground in his favor. Pyle instead takes Ambrose down and quickly moves into full mount, before taking his opponent’s back. Pyle stays calm, working punches, and getting his hooks in before finally sinking in a fight ending rear naked choke

-Vitor Belfort vs. Terry Martin

R1: Martin comes out swinging as Belfort backs off. They start to stalk each other with Martin charging in but not landing much. They clinch up but seperate quickly, Belfort lands a nice one-two combination. Martin charges in as they clinch up and not much action happening. They break and Martin lands a nice right hand. Martin continues to be the aggressor as Belfort continues to back up. They trade shots with Martin getting the better of the exchange as the round ends.

R2: They start the second more aggressive as they trade shots with both fighters landing. Belfort looks more comfortable as he throws more shots. He goes for a kick but Martin catches it and takes it to the ground. Belfort gets back to his feet and Martin continues to stalk Belfort on the feet. Belfort lands a a big flying knee that hurts Martin, who goes for thet takedown but is brushed off. Belfort lands a big left hand that knocks Martin out cold.

-Gary Goodridge vs. Paul Buentello

R1: Buentello starts with a jab and is the aggressor. Goodridge throws some kicks and Buentello lands some uppercuts and has Goodridge along the ropes as they clinch. They seperate and Buentello lands a combination. They continue to trade with Buentello getting the better of the exchanges. Goodridge landing low kicks as Buentello continues to be the aggressor, landing uppercuts and knees that force Goodridge to cover up. Goodridge landing some shots of his own as Buentello works the body. Goodridge lands a low kick and punch to end the round.

R2: Goodridge starts the round with low kicks as Buentello continues to stalk him. He lands a flurry of elbows that force Goodridge to cover up but he is able to recover. They continue to trade with Buentello being the aggressor. Goodridge lands a good flurry then clinches up with Buentello. They seperate and Buentello lands a combination before being tagged by Goodridge. Buentello landing uppercuts that look to have Goodridge bu he backs off as the round ends.

R3: Goodridge again cstarts the round with low kicks as Buentello lands some uppercuts as they clinch up. Buentello landing some knees, while Goodridge works the body. They seperate and Buentello continues to be the aggressor as Goodridge looks tired. Buentello lands a combination that hurts Goodridge but he is unable to finish him. Goodridge recovers as they seperate and Buentello continues to be the aggressor. They clinch up and trade shots in the corner as Goodridge is bloodied in the mouth as Buentello finishes the fight with a combination.
