- BONES JONES NOT HAPPY ABOUT UFC 100 STAND-UP
Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - by Steven Marrocco - MMAWeekly.com

Jon “Bones” Jones certainly looked relaxed in the Octagon as he faced “Irish” Jake O’Brien at UFC 100, shuffling around the action like hero Muhammed Ali.
He stayed true to his unpredictable style, too, catching wrestler/boxer O’Brien off guard with a fake takedown attempt that turned into a spinning elbow, setting the fight’s end in motion.
But he also got caught more than he’d like – O’Brien had a nice left hook waiting for him as he closed distance – and he’s upset with that.
“I think it was the most punches I’ve taken in a single fight,” Jones told MMAWeekly.com as he left the Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday night. “It was more about the boxing, realizing that I have slight bad habits that I’m definitely going to fix.”
The victory could open Jones to the next tier of light heavyweight competitors – Matt Hamill, Luiz Cane, and Brandon Vera are good challenges down the road – and he wants to be ready when he makes his next appearance.
“I’d be a fool to come back with the same weaknesses,” he said. “So I’m really going to work to improve.”
