Middleweights Rob Kimmons and Jorge Rivera will face off at UFC 104 in October, MMAWeekly.com has learned from sources close to the fight.

Both parties have agreed to the contest and bout agreements are in the process of being finalized.

UFC 104 is expected for Oct. 24 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Rivera (16-7) is coming off a decision win over Nissen Osterneck at UFC Fight Night 18 in the culmination of a harrowing period in his personal life due to the loss of eldest daughter Janessa in August. An eight-year veteran of the sport, Rivera appeared on the fourth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," dubbed "The Comeback." He graduated from the show with a win over Edwin Dewees in November 2006, and has since gone 2-2 in the Octagon.

Kimmons (22-4) dispatched Joe Vedepo by guillotine on the same night Rivera defeated Osterneck, rebounding from a September 2008 loss to Dan Miller at UFC Fight Night 15. The win was his second in the Octagon. The 28-year-old Midwesterner trains out of Crawford's Mixed Martial Arts in Kansas.
