Lesnar is cut above the right eye by a Couture punch. Lesnar lands a right hand that sends Couture crashing to the canvas. He swoops in looking to finish and delivers hammer fist after hammer fist. The referee stops the fight. Brock Lesnar is the new UFC heavyweight champion of the world. Randy is slow to get back up.

Brock Lesnar def. Randy Couture by TKO at 3:07, R2

-Joe Stevenson (156) vs. Kenny Florian (156)
R1 – Florian using his reach advantage to box with Stevenson and stay out of his takedown range, but Stevenson is relentless and gets in, utilizing his punches to get to Florian's legs. Stevenson scores a takedown, but Florian pops right up as they clinch on the fence. Stevenson scoops up Florian who grabs to the cage to lessen the impact of the slam and gets a warning from referee Herb Dean. Back standing, Florian lands a head kick with the left leg, but Stevenson clinches and lands a vicious body shot. Florian retaliates with a takedown of his own, landing in Stevenson's guard. Florian lands tremendous shot diving in and passes guard to full mount. Stevenson gives up his back and Florian locks on the rear naked choke, Stevenson taps.

-Dustin Hazelett (170) vs. Tamdan McCrory (170)
R1 – McCrory opens with a tremendous flurry of punches that rocks Hazelett, who quickly recovers and strikes back, just missing with the flying knee. After a bit of slowdown, Hazelett hurts McCrory with a series of right hands, but the 6'4" fighter composes himself and they continue on. Hazelett just misses with the head kick, they hit the ground and Hazelett lands the omo plata. McCrory does a good job defending, but Hazelett puts on an armbar with the omo plata still on for the submission.

-Jorge Gurgel (155) vs. Aaron Riley (156)
R1 – Gurgel scores early with a right kick to the body, but Riley gives no ground. Riley seemed to be gaining steam, but it was cut short by a kick to Gurgel's groin that stalled the action. They immediately begin trading flurries upon the restart, Gurgel giving a little better than he takes. Gurgel lands a couple really solid right hands and soon follows with a right kick to the head that has Riley dazed, but still fighting back. They trade shots for the next couple of minutes, Riley apparently bleeding from the bridge of his nose. Gurgel unleashes a couple brief flurries and scores with a body kick. Riley fires back hard, landing a few blows of his own, but Gurgel scores a kick to the head as the round closes.
MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Gurgel.

R2 – They again start trading blows, and again Gurgel seems to be getting off quicker, landing kicks to the body and flurries of punches. Riley is continually firing back, but not with the same frequency as Gurgel. They go toe-to-toe in a brutal exchange of punches at center ring, Riley misses with a knee, Gurgel lands his own, but slips and Riley follows him down. Gurgel upkicks with Riley standing in his guard, but Riley drops down some heavy hammer fists. They work back to the feet and start another brutal exchange of blows. Gurgel unloads a flurry of uppercuts from the clinch before they separate and start in again. Riley unloads a combination of punches that hurts Gurgel in the closing moments of the round, likely stealing the round on the scorecards.
MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Riley.

R3 – Once again, Riley and Gurgel start unloading to open the round. Gurgel scoring early with the hands, and Riley utilizing his kicks. Riley catches Gurgel with a kick that has him rocked and follows with a fierce combination of punches, but Gurgel survives and fires back. Riley starts in from a Thai clinch with knees to the body. Gurgel starts to comeback midway through the round, but Riley seems to be hurting Gurgel more than what Gurgel is hurting him. Gurgel slips again and Riley takes advantage dropping down blows from the guard. Unbelievable fight as these two go toe-to-toe until the final bell.
MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 and the fight 29-28 for Riley.
