- CFC TAKING ITS SHOW ACROSS THE POND TO U.K.

Combat Fighting Championships on Friday announced its first ever U.K. event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 17 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England.
The main event is slated to pit former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight titleholder Ricco Rodriguez against fellow UFC veteran Jeff Monson. Sky Sports will reportedly broadcast the event.
The CFC has run four events over the past two years in Orlando, Fla.
“To be bringing CFC to the U.K. is a pleasure in itself and we are excited to showcase our event … at the Metro Radio Arena,” said CFC chief operating officer Preston Clarke. “MMA is still an emerging sport in the U.K. and we aim to bring the best of it to new fans all over the country.”
Karl Woolley, Combat FC’s CEO, said “Our match makers are dedicated to bringing the fans the fights they want to see and we know they won’t be disappointed with this card. We have athletes like Ricco Rodriquez, who has beaten some of the top names in MMA, including Randy Couture and Andrei Arlovski,” stated Karl Woolley, CFC’s chief executive officer.
