- ELITE XC ANNOUNCES MARCH 21 SHO XC FIGHT CARD
Monday, March 10, 2008 - by MMAWeekly.com

EliteXC on Monday announced the full fight card for the next installment of its ShoXC Elite Challenger Series on the Showtime premium network.
Muay Thai kickboxing champion Malaipet Sitprapom will face King of the Cage veteran Thomas Denny in the March 21 main event at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, Calif. The bout heads the five-fight telecast of the fifth installment of the ShoXC series.
Sitprapom has little experience in mixed martial arts, but his strong background in Muay Thai and his eagerness to adapt makes him a formidable fighter.
“I started watching MMA when I got to the U.S. and liked what I saw,’’ said Sitprapom. “I respect both Muay Thai and MMA. I am still learning, but I feel I have what it takes to make it in MMA.’’
As a veteran of more than 40 bouts, Denny knows where he wants this fight to go. “Malaipet is untested on the ground. Well, I am going to test him,’’ Denny said. “I always like to do the opposite of whatever my opponent is doing anyway, and everyone knows Malaipet wants to stand up.”
Other bouts on the telecast include Marlon Matias vs. Conor Huen at 160 pounds; Cristiane Cyborg vs. Jen Case at 140 pounds; Shane Del Rosario vs. Analu Brash at 265 pounds; and Mark Oshiro vs. Chris Caraiso at 140 pounds.
Non-televised bouts include Karen Darabedyn vs. TBA; Devin Howard vs., Mark Kempthorne at 170 pounds; Amadeo Viola vs. Jason Williams at 265 pounds; Luke Riddering vs. TBA at 170 pounds; and Kenny Johnson vs. TBA at 170 pounds.
