  - VISA ISSUES DELAY MACHIDA

The Ultimate Fighting Championship held its UFC 79: Nemesis pre-fight press conference Thursday. It was originally scheduled to showcase six fighters and UFC president Dana White.
White did appear alongside five fighters: Chuck Liddell, Wanderlei Silva, Matt Hughes, Georges St-Pierre, and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. The fighter abscent was Lyoto Machida.
Machida's arrival to Las Vegas has been delayed due to visa issues, his camp confirmed to MMAWeekly. The excess travel during the holiday season was cited as part of the reason for the delay.
Machida is expected to land is Las Vegas late Thursday. The visa issues, although an inconvinience, are not expected to jeopordize his bout with Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, who is making his UFC debut Saturday night.
